helping you learn to embrace high sensitivity so that you can feel confident as you move through life
You might be noticing that…
you seem to take in the energy or vibes of the people/environments around you and that it is hard to shake these feelings if the situation feels uncomfortable
you feel more heavily impacted by sad world events than others you know
you worry about how you present yourself in social situations and find yourself repeating conversations afterwards, critiquing every interaction
you are more sensitive to medications, alcohol, or drugs and find the feeling of being out of control of your body extremely uncomfortable
you have a hard time transitioning to new environments, get tired easily, or need a significant amount of downtime in order to feel restored
it is hurtful to feel categorized as being “overly dramatic” or “too sensitive”, and that this has happened to you throughout your life
As a person who self-identifies as highly sensitive, I feel uniquely qualified to work with you.
I utilize my own HSP strengths to become well attuned to your emotional processes. I feel very comfortable in this space and enjoy witnessing clients grow.
therapy that affirms high sensitivity can help you to
recognize the myriad positive qualities of those who are highly sensitive, and learn to use these to your advantage
understand and accept what your limits are - physically, interpersonally, and emotionally
create a reasonable schedule for yourself, allowing you to enjoy more stimulating activities while also getting enough rest
feel validated if those around you don’t seem to understand your experiences
have a safe space to explore the depths of your thoughts and feelings while brainstorming realistic ways to manage them outside of session
figure out how to communicate your needs and boundaries to those close to you and to feel ok about doing this
Process
We will start by exploring your sensitivity and the impact that it has had on your life. Space will be given to process any hurt you have experienced in the past.
Integrate
Next, we will work on learning boundary setting and self regulating skills. While this can be challenging, you will notice that using these skills outside of session will help minimize your distress.
Flourish
Ultimately, we will spend time reflecting on your progress and inherent strengths. You will experience personal growth.
