FAQs

  • We will meet using the HIPAA compliant Zoom platform. You will receive a reminder email each week that contains the link to our secure session.

  • It is essential that we meet once per week so that I am able to learn about you and help you with long term goals while remaining attuned to the short term issues that you may bring into session. Meeting with less frequency is a part of the final stage of the therapeutic process. I believe that choosing to meet less than once per week is a clinical decision that must be made collaboratively by the therapist and the client after progress has been made. Meeting with more frequency can be arranged when a client feels that they need additional support, this is also a clinical decision that we will make together when appropriate.

  • I only provide individual therapy. If you are seeking couples or family therapy, I highly suggest seeking out a clinician who specializes in those modalities and advertises that they want to provide this type of service.

  • About 20% of my caseload is reserved for folks who require a sliding scale of fees. These spots are currently full. If you are in a situation where cannot pay very much for therapy, I recommend checking out Open Path. This organization serves to match clients with therapists who are offering sliding scale services.

  • For new client consultation calls I have 15 minute times slots available across the week, sign up for a spot here. For regular 50 minute client sessions, I am available Monday - Thursday in the mornings and afternoons.

  • We will meet over the phone for about 15 minutes, I will ask you about your reasons for seeking therapy at this time and some of your goals. I will be able to answer questions that you might have about my practice. If my skillset is well suited for your clinical needs, we will schedule a time to regularly meet on a weekly basis. After the call, I will send you a secure email with intake and consent forms that must be completed prior to our first session. If working together does not seem like a good fit, I will offer you referrals to a clinician that may better meet your needs or availability.

  • An essential element of the therapeutic process is continued communication between client and therapist about how the relationship is feeling - in fact, most therapeutic change can be attributed to the strength of the connection during sessions. If something about our sessions feels "off", please let me know so that we can work through it. If one of us feels that the relationship is misaligned, I will be able to provide you with referrals around finding a clinician to meet your needs.

  • I consider myself to be a client-centered therapist, meaning that my upmost goal is to attune myself to your presentation and needs in each session. I believe that by showing you compassion and understanding for your circumstances, you will learn to give yourself that same forgiveness and kindness. I like to insert humor and lightheartedness into sessions and believe that in therapy, no topic is off limits. I will sometimes use telehealth to my advantage, sharing my screen to show you psychoeducational infographics that will aide in your emotional growth.
